Moving on to endless waltz after the anime series, i am pretty curious what else could happen in the after colony era. After all, *spoilers*, the anime series did ended pretty well with wing zero taking out the giant battle ship with his twin buster rifle. Zechs is missing, epyon presumably destroyed and the king of all manipulators: Treize Khushrenada was slain.

Turns out much more can still happen, as the 5 gundams are redesigned as their Endless Waltz version.
The EW versions were assumed to always be the case as each pilot recalls what make them then pilots of the gundams in operation meteor. For instance, the flashback to the final episode where wing zero shot down the giant battle ship was redone to show wzc instead. Reason: probably to sell more kits.
Starting with Heero, he accidentally killed a girl and her dog when a bomb planting mission went awry.
No-Name with the real Trowa Barton
Trowa turns out to be just one of the mechanic working on gundam heavyarms. He called himself no-name ( as ridiculous as anything else in gundam wing) , killed the original trowa barton and stole his name and gundam.
Wufei's backstory was probably the least expected. He had a fiancee who was killed and her name was nataku. Which means wufei called his Shenlong gundam and the Altron gundam after his deceased wife. This is probably the most plausible backstory of the 5 since this explains wufei's bad attitude throughout the series.
Quatre and Duo seems to have badly thought out backstories. Quatre was originally the pilot of the sandrock gundam and intructor H suddenly decided to alter the original meteor which was to drop a colony down earth then have the 5 gundams create havoc.
Duo was a thief that tried to destroy deathscythe, but Professor G actually encouraged him to steal the gundam and go down to earth.
Wonder if all these were coincidences? Or did the 5 scientists had collaborated to alter the plan?
Actual storywise of the OVA/movie, it is pretty solid and is as insane as the wing anime series. Duo and heero's broke into the colony in a transport vessel despite heavy fires from enemy MSes.
In case there was still any doubt about plot armor in gundam wing, Endless waltz confirmed its existence by having heero pilot a leo again, this time against altron.
To cut long story short, here is a series of screenshots for the movie/ ova.
Heero receives his WZC and the one of the most impractical gundam designs appear.
Wufei explains that he becomes evil itself to test humanity and that he does not believe in relena's ideals.
He also states that he did not truly defeat Treize and Treize's spirit is still haunting him. This is in fact not an exaggeration considering what Treize does in gundam wing.
Quick recap of some of Treize Khushrenada 's feats in gundam wing:
1.He plotted and manipulated heero yuy to kill an entire plane of pacifists.
2.He fought several mobile dolls with a leo.
3.He has an assistant called lady une, who has a split personality in which both sides are mentally deranged.
4.He designed the Epyon, one of the most badass gundam ever which also is pure meele.
5.He decided that he himself was even more badass and gave the Epyon away to Heero Yuy.
6.He predicted Heero and Zechs to perform one of the most impossible gundam trades in gundam history and Zechs ended up in Epyon.
7.He listed the exact number of people who died for him when wufei asked.
8.He allowed himself to be killed by wufei.
9.No one knows what he was trying to accomplish.
So there was no surprise wufei got pretty freaked out by such a man.
Anyway,
Duo, quatre and trowa arrives to help Tallgeese III piloted by Zechs who returned by the new cool name of Preventer Wind.
Heero yuy arrives and made one of the best speeches in gundam history to intimidate Mariemaia and Dekim.
Heero: Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated.
Dekim: What are you planning?
Heero: Your shelter is secure, is it?
Mariemaia: Of course it is, see for yourself how powerless you are.
Heero: Roger that.
Mariemaia: *mind=blown*
I have watched both the ova and the movie, and there were some minor cosmetic differences. Slightly longer battle scenes, a different song, slightly longer epilogue and Dorothy appearing in the movie. I prefer the movie version as it combines the 3 episodes of the ova into one , but there really is not too much of a change.
Conclusion:

1. Better animation than the anime series, no reused footage of grunts standing at the same positions.
2. The EW gundams look good overall.
3. Storyline follows the same style as the anime: insane but badass.
4. Nice soundtracks of Last Impression in the movie and White Reflection in the OVA.
5. No characters were left out.
6. Perfect blend of the backstory and continuation of the anime series.
7. Action scenes were not alot but enough for a movie/ ova.
8. Brilliant speech by Heero Yuy
Thumbs Down:
1. No logical explanation for the redesigned gundams.
2. Usual ridiculous plot where the main characters infiltrates and escapes enemy base easily.
3. Duo and quatre's backstory were pretty crappy.
