*Update!* Pics updated.
1.Introduction:
Model: Brave Commander TEST TYPE GNX-903W
Size: Hg 1 144
Pilot: Graham Aker
Price: 1600 yen
Boxart:
Impressive boxart.
Manual:
Some poses for ppl like me who cannot make good poses.
Bandai's way of making us buy many other kits. (may get masurao though, perhaps in 1 100)
2. Articulation: articulation is pretty good, details are there, nothing much needed to make it look good except some panel lining. Some say the orange part of the head has some cool details on the left side, but i don't really find it all too great. well u must look REAL close to appreciate it i guess. look kinda weird from far.
One more thing, the blue thing behind its head is a wire of some sorts, it sticks in surprisingly well and looks very compatible with the model.
3. weapons and accessories:
The GN beam rifle kinda impressed me when i saw the runner. Then came the white stickers which is supposed to be sticked on the rifle itself. The stickers are hard for not-so-steady hands like mine to stick on and u are supposed to bend it at 2 points.
But the beam rifle itself is still cool looking if u managed to paint that part white or managed to stick it well unlike mine.
Yes, u saw that right, the white stick at the bottom is the sword. i was rather disappointed that we had to paint it orange ourself at year 2010, gunpla 30th anniversary. well i used clear orange paint to paint it and it looked very pleasing despite poor painting skills.
Self-painted sword. the orange clear paint sure came in handy.
Oh yeah, it comes with its own stand, further proof of Graham Aker's epicness. it is always good to get a included stand. this stand is quite stable, but the holder part that is supposed to be slided into the base is not too steady. Yes, u only use only of the black holders on the base at a time. i really have no clue how is the one on the left is supposed to work. it sticks out at a funny angle, huh?
4.Poseability:
Good ground poses can be pulled off i believe. i am bad at posing.
Holding the orange sword.
Pity graham did not get to use the sword against the ELS
ELS might have talked sooner if graham shows them this.
5. Transformation:
This is a pain in the ass to pull off. or maybe i am just lousy with transformation. anyway from top view the mobile suit is well-hidden.(try spot its head) the 2 black swords that stick out add some points to the transformation. the hard part, for me anw, is the torso part which is supposed to be twisted, n slide down for the hips to be at that precise angle.
As u can see, the feet dun stick together but nonetheless they do hold up well. Pegs on the side binders do allow the legs to stay attached, to provide a much-needed compactness.
" Go Setsuna! Blaze a Trail to the future!"
<insert swooshing sound effect>
Verdict:
Articulation: 7/10
Details: 7/10 only complain is the white stickers for the rifle.
Poseability: 8/10
Sturdiness( higher score if parts dun keep falling everytime i do a diff pose)
:6.5
A very good model kit , well worth my money. i was actually so impressed that i wanted to buy the regular green version so that i can display the MS and flight mode together side by side. But after going through the transformation i am not so sure. Probably not. :D Feel free to leave comments. Next review up will be, the 00 series's granddaddy gundam, the O gundam.
I am a graham fan.
